Discovering Moka
Can you make a cappuccino with the Moka? Let's find out
A cappuccino starts with coffee, but the Moka should do only the work it was designed for: preparing a rich stovetop coffee.

- Do not put milk in the Moka boiler or collector.
- Prepare coffee with the Moka, then foam the milk separately.
- Use a medium grind and serve the drink immediately for the best aroma.
Why milk does not belong inside the Moka
The Moka works with water, steam pressure and ground coffee. Milk behaves differently from water: it can burn, leave residue and block parts that should stay clean.
For that reason, a cappuccino-style drink should be built in two steps. First prepare coffee with the Moka, then heat and foam the milk with a separate tool.

How to build the cup
Choose a coffee with enough body, pour it into a warm cup and add milk foam slowly. The result is not a bar espresso cappuccino, but it keeps the comfort of the Moka ritual.
Clean the coffee maker with warm water after use and leave every part dry before assembling it again.
